Gold Walking – Training and Practice Expedition

Based in the incredible but accessible Edale valley, we will spend 4 days really focussing on upskilling participants to fully prepare them for future adventures and expeditions. Our instructors will work with you to create lots of learning opportunities that stretch your comfort zone and grow your ability, whilst keeping you safe and having fun
Our first day will be spent in the Edale Valley where we plan to stay on Night 1, allowing us to make the most the local area for training and give us time to plan our expedition on that first evening. Day 2 we will develop skill in the upper reaches and edges of the valley before camping at a campsite with facilities for expedition planning and chatting about the day’s progression and challenges. Day 3 and 4 will put your skills to the test under your instructor’s mentorship through a practice expedition where you will be independently “proper camping” at a remote hillside farm putting all your expedition skills to the test.

What is included?
- All training and expedition guidance, route planning and instruction.
- All group expedition kit e.g., tents, cookers, fuel, first aid kits, map’s etc.
- The provision of accommodation as detailed in the itinerary
- Provision of qualified and experienced instructors, pastoral support and 24-hour emergency back up support in case of emergencies.
- A pre-expedition training session for the whole group via Teams/ Zoom etc.

- Transport to and from the agreed start/finish point.
- Personal belongings insurance or cancelation insurance
- Provision of individual equipment specified in the personal kit list (unless purchased as an optional extra)
