Canoeing offers students a completely different DofE experience. Travelling by water brings together practical paddling skills, teamwork, navigation, decision-making and self-reliance, while allowing groups to journey through some fantastic parts of the UK.
We can provide everything from specialist canoe instructors and technical support through to a fully managed canoe expedition programme, including training, equipment, route planning, campsites, expedition delivery and assessment support.
Training can often be arranged at a suitable water venues close to your school before students progress to their practice and qualifying expeditions.

Canoe Training
Students need considerably more than simply knowing how to paddle a canoe before undertaking an expedition independently.
Our training programmes prepare participants progressively for their practice and qualifying expeditions and can include:

For Gold groups, additional training and journey preparation can be incorporated where required before students undertake their expedition.

Rather than spending several days carrying everything on their back, students work together to move and manage their canoe, navigate their journey and look after themselves and their team along the way.
