River Adventures
A unique opportunity for students to paddle along one of the classic waterways of the UK
An alternative to our Mountain Expeditions, our river journeys provide a unique opportunity for students to paddle along one of the classic waterways of the UK. Where they can stop for lunch breaks along the river banks & observe a variety of wildlife in its natural surroundings.
In addition to learning how to paddle and manage a 2 or 3 person canoe, students will have responsibility for planning and managing each day of their expedition.
River adventures encourage the development of leadership, teamwork & communication skills. As students learn how to adapt to their new environment they not only learn how to overcome adversity but also cultivate a sense of self-reliance, resilience and independence.
The performance and safety of students will be carefully facilitated by our experienced leaders, review sessions will re-enforce the transferable life skills learnt and developed on the programme.
Ultimately though the expeditions are designed to be exciting, fun and rewarding
Duration: 2 – 5 days, programmes of a longer duration can be offered
Age: 9 +
Locations: Our principal locations are the rivers Thames, Wye & Severn, but deliver expeditions from many other locations across the UK.
Accommodation is a mix of camping and bunk barns depending on the itinerary
