This really is one of the best experiences you can have in a canoe in the UK! Three days of bushcraft training and preparation followed by a four day expedition – testing your skills in the wilderness on and off the UK’s biggest Loch.

Our first day will be spent creating expedition aims, route planning and covering various canoe and bushcraft masterclasses giving you the foundation skills required. Day 2 and 3 will see us putting these skills into practice with a full day and night in the wilderness learning to apply fundamental bushcraft skills in the expedition environment. We’ll cover not just how to survive, but how to thrive, looking to create comfortable accommodation with three course meals and learning to embrace what is around us for our own benefit.  We will be leaving no trace of us being in the environment or have any impact on the resources we will be using. The afternoon and evening of Day 3 will be spent in Oban, picking up supplies for your expedition and heading out for dinner.

Your expedition starts for real on Day 4 with a drop off at an agreed start location to begin paddling into the wilderness for the next 4 days. Exploring abandoned castles, watching incredible wildlife and making unique memories at your remote camps – this expedition is all about the journey and exploration not the distance covered or destination.  Your instructors will supervise and mentor you through the experience aiming to make sure you don’t just “pass” but you excel in the environment!

This trip is very much open to all – Whilst you will need to have completed your practice and training expedition in a canoe to take part, this expedition requires no previous bushcraft or specialist knowledge. An average level of fitness and a willingness to embrace wilderness travel is all that is needed.
